Great Music! Great Calling!
A contra dance weekend (Friday night 8pm—11pm, Saturday 10:30am—11pm) featuring:
Known for her flowing contras and fast-moving, exciting squares, Kathy has brought her enthusiastic style to dancers across the US, Canada, and Europe. Her repertoire of quirky contras and high-energy squares make for a fun, challenging dance experience.
Wild and sparkling music — everything from folk, to Eastern European, to original tunes, with Larry Unger on guitar, banjo, and bass; Eden MacAdam-Somer on fiddle; and Mark Hellenberg on percussion.
An innovative band from western NY and PA, TuneScape nudges the border between traditional music and modern groove. Inspired by the tunes of Ireland, New England, Quebec, and Appalachia, TuneScape creates an unmistakeable sound of power and beauty.
Salem United Church of Christ, 60 Bittner St. Rochester, NY
Cost for the full weekend is $39 in advance, $44 at the door. Separate session pricing and student rates are also available. To register, or see the detailed schedule, see the web version of our flyer. The full version of the flyer (requires legal sized paper to print) is here.
