Lee Shepherd on violin, Julian Shepherd on cello, Cheryl Speise on flute, and Charlene Thompson on piano make up this lively Binghamton based band. Richard Brown, Karen Millyard, Joanna Reiner, and Richard Sauvain will share the calling. One of our newer local callers, paired with one of the hottest bands around -- the Groovers are much in demand all over the country for dance weekends and festivals. Members are C.W. Abbott (mandolin), Mark Hellenberg (percussion), Jane Knoeck (piano & accordion), and Rebecca McCallum (fiddle).

Unless otherwise noted all contras are held at Covenant United Methodist Church, 1124 Culver Road (corner of Parsells) from 8 to 11 PM. English dances are at the Friends Meeting House, 84 Scio St., from 7:30 - 10 pm. ADMISSION is $7 ($6 for CDR members), $1 off for students/seniors.

Dances are participatory - New England Contras and Traditional Squares, or English Country. All dancing is with live music. Beginners are always welcome (with very rare exceptions, noted above). Dances are taught, with more teaching at the beginning of the evening. You do not need to come with a partner. Please wear soft-soled, low-heel shoes for your comfort and for the good of the hall.
